Who we are
Established in 2019, the Community Counselling Centre of London was created to fill an apparent and escalating need in our mental health care resources. Many people are unable to access affordable, timely and consistent mental health care. In order for solid change to occur, for both individuals and the communities we live in,
this is a resource that must be available to everyone no matter their socioeconomic status.
We are part of this solution by providing subsidized psychospiritual therapy sessions
to clients through a unique model that also provides quality training and clinical placement hoursto graduate level therapist interns under direct supervision. We are an accredited teaching centrewith the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels (CASC/ACSS) and our Supervisor-Educators are certified.
While each client at our Centre is assessed individually based on household income and number of dependents to determine the session fee, many clients, especially those who are unhoused or on ODSP and OW, receive fully subsidized counselling sessions.
According to the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association,
"One in five Canadians experience a mental health issue or illness. 4,000 Canadians die every year as a result of suicide. In Canada, counselling is the most prevalent, but least likely fulfilled mental health care need."
